LOCAL ISSUES, Chach. Zertanak, circa 640-730. AE (Bronze, 22 mm, 2.72 g). Facing bust turned slightly to right, wearing earrings and a crescent moon headpiece; the swastika symbol to right. Rev. The tamgha of Chach; legend around, ‘zyrtnk cʾcynk xwβw’, i.e. ‘Zērtanak Čāčēnk xūβu’ (‘Zertanak, king of Chach’ in Sogdian). Lurje 1576. Shagalov & Kuznetsov 201. Zeno-195069 (this coin). Very rare. Some deposits and cleaning scratches, otherwise, very fine.
